March 13, 2006

Aston, PA- The Pennsylvania Athletic Conference announced the first weekly awards for the spring season Monday afternoon March 13. The weekly honors recognized four Knights for their performances in the opening week of competition.

Neumann College's Ryan McCauley (Jr., A, Havertown, PA/Monsignor Bonner) scored nine goals in the opening week of lacrosse competition earning his first PAC honor of the season. The Neumann Knights men's lacrosse team, now 1-1 on the season, will return to action on Wednesday against DeSales University in DeSales, Pennsylvania.

Neumann College's Caitlin O'Shea (So, G, Springfield, PA/Springfield) stopped 29 shots in net in Neumann's season opening week. For her efforts in the Knights 1-1, 1-0 PAC week, the sophomore goal keeper was named PAC Women's Lacrosse Player of the Week. O'Shea stopped 15 saves in the Knights season opener against Curry College and shut down Gwynedd Mercy College, recording 15 saves against the PAC foe in West Palm Beach Florida last week. Neumann is scheduled to face Eastern University in their home opener of Wednesday, March 15 at 4:00 p.m.
