July 28, 2005 Aston, PA- Freshman pitcher Kelli Ann Meehan (Springfield, PA/Cardinal O'Hara) was named the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference (PAC) Women's Softball Rookie of the Year. Kristen Lawlor (Williamstown, NJ/Our Lady of Mercy) and Kim Zlupko (Cinnaminson/Cinnaminson, NJ) also were named to the All-PAC First -Team for their performance during the season. The trio led the Knights to the best finish in program history with an 18-21 record and a berth in the PAC Tournament for the second straight season. Sole Senior Erin Fagan (Conwell-Egan/Fairless Hills) was also honored with the 2005 PAC Softball Sportsmanship Award. Meehan finished the season 13-6 with an earned run average of 2.63. In 137 innings of work, Meehan gave up only 40 earned runs with 127 strike outs, only 39 passes and tossed five shutouts in the Knights 18 wins. At the plate Meehan hit .400 in her first season with the Knights. She is a two-time PAC Pitcher of the Week and earned ECAC Southern Player of the Week honors during the season. Meehan's teammate Kirsten Lawlor was given first team honors for her efforts in the outfielder while Kim Zlupko earned first team honors at 2nd base position. |
