Meet Team Chaplain, Mr. Brian P. Datte

Sept. 5, 2005

Meet Team Chaplain, Mr. Brian P. Datte

Director of Facilities at Neumann College (Manager with Aramark Facility Services since 1985), Brian P. Datte, has been a member of the Neumann Knights golfprogram since March of 2004 and the men's ice hockey program since January of 2005.

As Team Chaplain, Mr. Datte provides personal and spiritual support to the student-athletes, coaches and staff during the entire school year. His role is designed to be one of encouragement, vision and leadership. While being in concert with the coaches, he also maintains a special relationship with the captains of the men's soccer team in assisting to develop their role in leadership through the filter of discipleship. ChaplainDattie is often called upon to provide a healthy, balanced perspective to the entire team, making athletics at Neumann College distinctive.

A 1985 graduate of Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, Chaplain Datte went on to earn a MBA degree at St. Joseph's University in Philadelphia in 1993. Prior to his current position, Mr. Datte served in various management positions in education facilities, including district management, as well as providing operational and sales support for the past 20 years with ServiceMaster and Aramark. Since 2004 he has assisted the coaching staff in integrating the competitiveness of sport, spirituality, and character development into the aggressive daily practices and the assertive competition that athletic teams endure on a volunteer basis. You can often see Chaplain Datte on the ice or in the fairways with his respective programs, if nothing else but providing some comic relief for the student athletes.
