The Knights started off slow, but found a way to come back from an early Widener 6 - 0 lead. Freshman Pat Crowe came in to relief late in the second inning, and pitched a perfect 3 1/3 innings with 4 strike outs and without allowing a run to score keeping the Knights in the game. The 8th inning could not have been more exciting with the Knights finally getting the inning they needed scoring 6 runs to take the lead 10 - 8. Sean Fitzgerald came in to close the game for the Knights, but fell short after Widener scored 3 runs to go ahead. After the third run of the inning crossed the plate the umpires called the game due to darkness. Offensively the Knights looked good tallying 14 hits. Nick Longmore (2-4, 2 R, and 2 RBI) and Kevin Ahern (2-4, 1 DBL) helped supported the Knights when needed. Senior Brian Chesnick also helped the Knights going 1 - 3 knocking in two and scoring a run. The Knights will be on the field on Friday, March 16 at 3:30 p.m. in a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference match up against |
