A Non-conference Twofold Over Lincoln University Gives the Knights Their Second Win of the Season.

LINCOLN UNIVERSITY, PA- In a game featuring strong 40 mile per hour wind gusts, both teams combined to commit 13 errors in the game that was ended because of darkness. Neumann improved its record to 2-1 with Phil Kelly recording the win in the 22-11 feat. Lincoln (4-6) suffered its third consecutive defeat despite a nine-run fifth inning. 

The Knights smacked the ball all over the field as the offense collected 16 hits in today's match up. Steve Maloney enjoyed a 3-for-4 day creating double trouble for the Lions. The senior shortstop hit three doubles and scored three runs for the Knights. Overall, nine of Neumann's 16 hits were of the extra base variety. The Knights had six doubles and three triples. Marc Torriero laced a pair of triples in the second inning. His second triple of the day came with the bases loaded in the top of the second inning. His hit capped a seven-run second inning for the Knights.

Other Knights with multiple hits were David Thompson, Nicholas Mendell and Matt Backert. The Knights scored 10 runs in the top of the fifth inning to open a 21-2 lead. The Lions roared back and took advantage of four Neumann errors in the bottom of the fifth, scoring nine runs but they were unable to over take the Knights 11 run differential.
