Center Valley, PA, - The Neumann College baseball team took on DeSales University's baseball team in a Saturday doubleheader. The team struggled in both games as they could not get their bats on the ball. In the first game the Knights came out on the short end of the outcome losing 13-2 and in the second game they fell short 6-1. In the first game the Knights were led by Sean Fitzgerald. Fitzgerald's pitching kept the Knights in competitive early in the game. Six errors in the field led to DeSales taking a commanding lead over the Knights and 13-2 win. In the second game the Knights starting pitcher was freshmen Raymond Schmoltze. Like Fitzgerald Schmoltze was able to give a strong performance keeping the Knights close. But similar to the first game 5 errors in the field allowed DeSales to jump out to 6-1 lead that stood for the final score. Neumann's record falls to 1-11 overall. The Knights will play their next game on Monday March 24th when they start conference play against Eastern University. Game time is set for a 1 p.m. start. |
