April 3, 2007

Box Score

Aston, Pa. - Neumann College suffered their eighth loss of the season after being defeated by Centenary College 23-5 this afternoon in men's baseball action.

The Knights gave up seven runs in the first three innings of play before scoring three of their five runs in the bottom of the third. Nicholas Longmore singled and then stole second sparking life into the Knights offense. Team captain and starting first basemen Kevin Ahern doubled, scoring Longmore and Joseph Slater recorded his first collegiate homerun to close the gap on Centenary 7-3.

However, Neumann was unable to shut down the day's visitors, who took a 19-3 lead after a nine-run sixth inning put the win out of the reach for the Knights.

Neumann will look to turn the tide Thursday when they travel to Dover, Delaware for a 3:00 matchup at Wesley College.
