The Knights fell early in game one and were unable to dig themselves out of a 6-3 second inning whole ending game one on the lower end 22-6. The Knights did receive quality play from Joseph Slater who hit his second homerun of the season in the bottom of the third but that was all the offensive production that the Wolverines would see from the Knights in game one. Game two was a thriller to watch as the Knights battled to avoid the series sweep. However, Neumann was unable to hold on to a 5-4 fourth inning lead falling by one run in the bottom of the ninth, 9-8. The Knights got things started with a solo homerun by Ryan Nason in the bottom of the fourth inning which sparked a five-run rally to take over the lead 5-2. In the top of the 5th however, things started to go down hill for the Knights after they gave up 2 runs in the 5th and 4 runs in the 6th. Neumann allowed one more run in the top of the 7th but rallied back in the bottom 7 after receiving two bases on balls and a string of three hits. However, Neumann fell short in the end after a two out double play sealed the deal for the Knights. Neumann returns to action March 13, when they host |
