Banquet Information

 

Friends and family please join us to help celebrate the
2005-2006 athletic year.
Neumann College invites you to the Baseball Banquet at Neumann College
in the Schmidt Room. The Ceremony will start promptly at
6:30 PM Friday, May 19,2006.


Please note that seating is limited and will be based on a first come, first served basis.There is no cost for the banquet, but we need to know if you will be attending. You can call the Athletic Department at 610-558-5627 or email Peggy Law at lawp@neumann.edu. Please respond to the Office of Athletics by Friday, May 12 so we can make room for you and your guests.

Highlights from the 2004-2005 Banquet:

Aston, PA - The Neumann College Annual Baseball Banquet was held on Monday, May 9, 2005 at the Neumann College Living and Learning Center.

Head Coach Len Schuler announced his team and the Pennsylvania Athletic (PAC) conference award winners. NC had one player make the all-conference team, junior outfielder Matt Backert was named to the 2005 All-PAC Sportsmanship Team. Backert hit .232 over all with two doubles, one triple and 14 RBI's. In addition, he sported a .989 fielding average. For his performance and leadership, Backert was named the team's Defensive Player of the Year.

Shortstop Steve Maloney was named the Knights 2005 MVP. Maloney led the Knights in hits this season with 44, and runs scored with 22. In the field he topped the leader's board in assists with 102 and fielded 14 double plays.

Sophomore outfielder Josh MacDonald was named the team's Offensive Player of the Year. MacDonald had 31 starts for the Knights earning a .333 batting average. His slugging percentage put him at the top of the leader's bracket at .500. MacDonald was second in hits this season with 32. He had 13 doubles and batted in 22 runs.

Teammates Phil Backert and Mike Maxwell were both honored for their hard work and deadication to the College as they were presented with the 2005 St. Francis and Clare Award. This award is given annually to a student athlete(s) who best exemplifies the mission of the College and is a representative of the best that the College has to offer.
