Gallagher Notches First Win; Knights Down PSU-Brandywine, 79-72

Lancaster, Pa. - Neumann's men's basketball team won its season opener as they picked up a 79-72 win over Penn State-Brandywine at the Franklin & Marshall Rotary Tip-Off Tournament. It is the first win for Knights Head Coach Mike Gallagher who took over the program in September. The Knights will take on Franklin & Marshall in the tournament final at 8:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Neumann broke a 68-68 tie with just under 3-minutes left to play in the game and never looked back. The Knights outshot PSU-Brandywine 42-36 in the paint and converted 22 points off turnovers.

Derahn Patrick led Neumann with 26 points followed by Eli Hitchens with 22 points. Na'Sheed Linton had a game high 5 steals in the win while James Swiggett led the defense with 7 rebounds.
