Knights Defeat Pacers 77-62

Aston, Pa. - The Knights of Neumann College (4-1, 2-0 PAC) battled their way to a 77-62 victory over the Pacers of Marywood University this evening in men's basketball action. 

 

The first half of PAC competition favored the Knights, who took a 43-32 first half lead over the Pacers. Neumann's Derahn Patrick led his team with 13 points and 2 rebounds.  Ronnie Fields and Jalon Bransford also stepped it up, adding 14 points to the Knights' offensive attack in the first 20 minutes of play.

 

The game's tempo was set early on by the Knights, who continued their offensive pressure throughout the second half.  Demonstrating their strongest play in the second half, Neumann extended their lead over the Pacers to 14 after Ronnie Fields and DJ Fritz each scored two and Derahn Patrick scored from behind the arc making it 50-36 Neumann. Marywood made an attempt to close in on the Knights, scoring three in a row, 50-42, but would not get any closer as the Knights went on to win it 77-62.

 

Leading the way for Neumann was Derahn Patrick with 21 points and 4 rebounds.  Jalon Bransdord chipped in for 15 and team captain DJ Fritz scored 14.

 

The Knights will look to extend their win streak to five on Monday, December 4, when they travel to Arcadia University for a 8:00 p.m. tip-off.
