Dec. 8, 2007

Box Score

Aston, Pa. - Dazaih Miller scored 24 points to lead Division II Shippensburg University to a 67-57 win over Neumann College in a cross divisional men's basketball game at Heiges Field House on Saturday.

Shippensburg is now 4-5, while the Knights dropped to 3-5 on the season. Derahn Patrick led Neumann with 16 points, 8 rebounds. Na'Sheed Linton added 9 points and Mike HItchens had 7.

Shippensburg had a 31-28 lead at intermission and took a 16-point lead, its largest of the night, at 52-35 with 11:19 to go in the second half. The Knights slowly started chipping away at the deficit after a Mike Hitchen's three-pointer at 11:02 sparked a 9-point run that cut the Shippensburg edge to five at 51-46 with 9:28 left. Na'Sheed Linton, who scored six points in 55 seconds, was a major factor in the Knights attempts to overtake the Red Raiders in the final minute of play as Neumann pulled within four with 3:35 on the clock.

The two teams battled back as the final minutes click off the clock. Neumann however, was unable to get past its hosts as the Red Raiders made seven consecutive free throws to secure the win, 67-57.

Neumann will remain idle for the remainder of 2007 but will return to action on January 5, 2008 when they will travel to Bethlehem, Pa. for an 8:00 p.m. tip off with Moravian College.
