Howey and Warrington Continue to Lead Neumann in a Season Full of Stellar Play

March 27, 2006

Tournament hosts' Shane Howey and Greg Warrington shared medalist honors shooting 76 to lead the Knights to their first tournament win of the spring season on Monday afternoon in men's golf action at Concord Country Club in Concordville, Pennsylvania.

The Knights shot 313 as a team to take the team title over second place Alvernia College (342), third place College Misercordia (361), and fourth place Gwynedd-Mercy (435) in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference match up. The tournament mark's Howey's first collegiate medalist honor, while Warrington now has four medalist honors as a Knight.

Neumann College's 313 total was composed of Howey and Warrington's 76's. Followed by Freshman Mike Marenic's 79 for a 3rd place finish individually, and the score was rounded out by Sophomore Joseph Coffey's 82 for a T4th individually. Captain Matt LaPenta carded an 84 to round out the Knights scores.

Neumann's record now moves to 6-1 following the tournament victory.

The Knights return to action on Wednesday March 29, 2006 at the Holy Family Spring Invitational at Torresdale-Frankford Country Club.
