Neumann Golf Celebrates a Successful Season

May 23, 2008

Aston, Pa. --The Neumann College golf team gathered together Friday afternoon at the Brandywine Country Club for their 4th Annual Awards Banquet.

Head Coach Frank Sill and Team Chaplin Brian Datte gave recognition to Mark VanVliet, Greg Warrington and Erik Stoyanvich who led the Knights to a second place finish at the 2008 PAC Championship and were honored with all-conference accolades. VanVliet and Warrington took home All-PAC First Team honors while Stoyanvich was selected to the second team.

Team awards were also given out and included Joseph Coffey taking the highest team honor, the St. Francis and Clare Award, and senior Gregory Warrington taking home the team M.V.P.

As each player reminisced about the past season, words of wisdom were given by Assistant Director of Athletics Len Schuler to junior Michael Marenic and sophomores Matthew Waddington and Richard Brandel who will lead the Knights next season. "Concentrate on the element of the game that is before you, not ahead or behind you, live in the moment and take the time to realize that it is what you do in that moment that will shape what comes next."
