Behind the first-place effort by Matt Lapenta, Neumann College won its third 1st place finish of the season and recorded the lowest score in program history. Teammates Matt Lapenta, Joe Coffey, Greg Warrington and Matt Spalding broke the Knights all-time team low score in men's golf on Wednesday as the foursome's combined score of 304 put them in first place at the Brandywine Country Club in Wilmington, DE. Neumann's own LaPenta took medalist honors in the quad match scoring a 74 and ending the day at +3. The Knights, who finished at a +20 overall, hosted Widener University, Wilmington College, and Arcadia University in their second home match of the season. Today's feat marks the second time this season the Knights have shot down the low score record. On April 1st, LaPenta, Coffey, Warrington, and team captain Justin Ricardi, combined for a low score of 307 at the Gwynedd-Mercy Invitational hosted by Pine Crest Country Club. |
