Aston, Pa-The Men's Hockey (3-1) team drop its first game of the season Sunday to the Adrian Bulldogs, 7-6. The Knights had a commanding 6-2 lead but sputtered in the third period and could not regroup as they were defeated in overtime. Neumann went down early in the first period as Adrian converted on two power plays early. Jeremy Klaver got them started and Chris Stansik scored the second goal giving the Bulldogs a 2-0 lead. Neumann got one back late in the third period when Matt Ward took a pass from Mark Van Vliet and finished pulling the Knights within one. In the second period of play, the Knights jumped out early and often. Neumann found the back of the net five times in the period. Matt Ward started the scoring off with less then a minute expired off the clock tying the score at 2-2. Jesse Cole then gave the Knights the lead when he went five hole on the Neumann added three more before the period was over. Mark Van Vliet and Kyle Casey added goals on the power play and Mike Hedden added one at even strength ending the period on a high note and a 6-2 lead. The tides turned in the third when the Knights could not stay out of the penalty box and Adrian put three power play goals in the back of the net. Adam Krug, Eric Miller, and Brad Houston each had a goal for the Bulldogs in third period. With less then a minute left the Bulldogs pulled their goalie and it paid off. Eric Miller found a lose puck in front of the net and put it in with twenty seconds left in the game tying the score at 6-6. The overtime period started and each team had a couple of chances.
