Four-Year Captain and Second Team All-American Mike Gooch

Trimm and Gooch to have Jerseys Retired

May 23, 2008

Seniors Neil Trimm and Mike Gooch were surprised at the 2008 Men's Hockey Banquet with the news that their jerseys would be retired next season and their numbers would not be worn again.

These two players were here for four seasons and combined for a total of 261 points for the Knights. They led a program that went 4-17-2 in their first season to ending their careers 52-41-8 and 17-9-0 in their final year. They helped this program grow and kept this team together.  They have helped to form this program in to a successful well known team that is at the tops of the nation each year.  They were both leaders on the team as well, as Gooch captained the team for all four seasons and Trimm was the assistant captain for 3 years.

The two contributed to this team in a major way as Gooch collected 99 points in 100 games for his career and Trimm collected 175 points in 85 games.

We wish both of these men luck as they graduate and hope that they will continue their success in the years to come.
