Knight's Release 2007-2008 Schedule

June 18, 2007

ASTON, Pa. - Neumann College has announced the Knights' men's ice hockey team's schedule for the upcoming 2007-08 season. The Knights' slate features a trip to Castleton, Vermont for the Rutland Herald Invitational, a first time match up with Tufts University and Adrian College and the traditional rivalry slate within the ECAC West Conference.

The nationally ranked Knights open the season at home with two back-to-back weekend double headers against SUNY Geneseo and Adrian College on October 19-20 and October 27-28.

Neumann will open conference play on November 2 with a two-game road trip to Hobart College on November 2 and Elmira College on November 3.

The Knights will return home to play host to nationally ranked powerhouse and longtime ECAC West rival Manhattanville College on November 16. The next night Neumann is schedule to host Utica College, who finished three points behind the Knights in the 2006-07 final season standings.

Neumann will then travel to Castleton, Vermont for the Rutland Herald Invitational. Here, the Knights will attempt to extend their regular season tournament championship winning streak to four.

The Knights play host to in-state conference rival Lebanon Valley College before hosting SUNY Fredonia in non-conference action in early December.

Over the holidays, the Knights will travel to Burlington, Vermont for the St. Michael's Holiday Tournament. After taking a year off from the tournament, the Knights will return to Vermont in hopes of capturing their second St. Michael's Tournament Championship. Neumann defeated St. Michaels and Utica College to win the 2005 Tournament which marked the programs first regular season tournament championship, in school history.

The Knights kick-off 2008 and celebrate their seniors with two straight home games against Hobart mid-January. They play their final seven-games of the season on the road at LVC, Elmira, Utica, and Manhattanville.

Neumann finished the 2006-2007 season ranked No. 3 in the nation and with the best record in program history (17- 5- 5). They return all but one member of the 2006-2007 team including 2006-07 All-Americans Neil Trimm, Mike Gooch and Mike Hedden.
