Justin A. McKenna joined the Neumann Knights in the summer of 2006 as the head men's lacrosse coach. McKenna, the former assistant coach at Franklin and Marshall College, will take over a Knights' program that returns eight starters this spring. Prior to accepting the position at Neumann served as the academic liason and guidance couselour at Colegio Americano de Durango (American School of Durango, Mexico). His capacities included teaching SAT prep courses, small group tutoring, and helping students with all aspects of the college application process for Mexican, Canadian, and American institutions. McKenna spent two years at Franklin and Marshall where his assistance on the sidelines led the team to a NCAA tournament appearance in 2003 and an ECAC tournament appearance in 2004. The Diplomats ended the 2003 season ranked 5 the in Division-III and in 2004 F&M earned a top ten national ranking in defense. Prior to joining the F&M staff, McKenna was the special teams' coordinator and recruiting coordinator at Lehigh University and orchestrated a highly touted recruiting class. With the Mountain Hawks, McKenna helped guide the Lehigh man-down unit to a top-five national ranking in 2002. In addition, McKenna served one-year at the University of Delaware as scouting coordinator for a perennial top 20 Division I team. A native of Annapolis, Maryland and 1996 Saint Mary's High School graduate, Justin A. McKenna received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from St. Joseph's University in 2000. While at St. Joseph's University, McKenna was part of the man-down unit that ranked in the top ten in Division I all four years. In 2000, he was a member of the Hawks to the Eastern College Athletic Conference and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference titles. Coach McKenna is currently pursuing a Master of Science in Strategic Leadership at Neumann College. |
