POUGHKEEPSIE, NY (April 19, 2008) - Despite scoring 10 goals, the second highest scoring game for Neumann this season, the Knights were unable to overcome the aggressive offense of Vassar College. Lead by sophomore Matt Toth (Coastville, PA/Coatesville,) the Knights fall to 2-10 on the season. After a back and forth first half in which both teams traded goals, the Brewers rattled off five unanswered goals in the third and fourth quarters to provide the cushion they needed to hold off a late Knights' rally. Neumann was led by Mailloux's two goals and sophomore Matt Toth, (Coatesville/Coatesville, PA), who tallied two goals and three assists. Junior goalkeeper Jake Boulay finished the game with an astounding 27 saves. The Knights, now 2-11 on the season, will next face Shanandoah University on April 23. |
