Kahn, McCauley, Kazaba and Nixon Honored at the 2007 Men's Lacrosse Banquet.

May 15, 2007

Aston, Pa. - Ryan McCauley led the Knights in scoring. Jason Kahn and Lewis Nixon led the team both on and off the field and Chad Kazaba was the Knights' 2007 pick for the PAC All-Sportsmanship Team.

The Neumann College Athletic Department recognized the efforts of these four Knights by naming them as this season's award winners on Friday evening at the Knights' 2007 Men's Lacrosse banquet.  Kazaba, a senior defenseman, earned All-PAC Second team honors and was named the 2007 Defensive MVP. Ryan McCauley was named Offensive MVP for the second time in his career and veteran captain Jason Kahn was named the 2007 St. Francis and Clare award winner. Rounding out the honors was freshman newcomer Lewis Nixon, who was honored by the coaches with the 2007 Neumann College Coaches Award for his efforts throughout the season.

Kazaba finished his career with the Knights as one of the top leaders in ground balls and caused turnovers. He appeared in every game this season and started in 11 of the 14. He is a 2005 St. Francis and Clare Award winner and a 2-Time PAC Sportsmanship Award winner.

2007 Offensive MVP Ryan McCauley led the Knights this season in five different categories. He surpassed the 100 point mark on April 21, 2007 at Wesley College. In that game the four-year starter for the Knights scored two goals and added an assist recording his 98th, 99th, and 100th career point. He ended his run with the Knights with a total of 102 career points. He is 2nd all time in man up goals and 5th all time in caused turnovers.

Tri-captain Jason Kahn, who was named a 2006 St. Francis and Clare award winner as a sophomore, received the honor for the second straight year.  The junior midfielder, who made 11 starts, scored 6 goals this season and added 6 assists.

Freshman Lewis Nixon was awarded the 2007 Coach's Award. Nixon, who saw action in eight games this season, was a positive influence on the team both on and off the field. He was always ready to step in when needed and was a key component of the Knights this season.

Neumann finished the year at 1-13 overall and 1-6 in PAC play under first year coaches Justin McKenna and Brad Downer.
