Aston, Pa. -Director of Athletics Chuck Sack has announced the hiring of Justin McKenna as the head men's lacrosse coach. McKenna, the former assistant coach at Franklin and Marshall College, will take over a Knights' program that returns eight starters.
McKenna spent two years at Franklin and Marshall where his assistance on the sidelines led the team to a NCAA tournament appearance in 2003 and an ECAC tournament appearance in 2004. The Diplomats ended the 2003 season ranked 5th in Division-III and in 2004 F&M earned a top ten national ranking in defense.
Prior to joining the F&M staff, McKenna was the special teams coordinator and recruiting coordinator at Lehigh University and orchestrated a highly touted recruiting class. With the Mountain Hawks, McKenna helped guide the Lehigh man-down unit to a top-five national ranking in 2002. In addition, McKenna served one-year at the University of Delaware as scouting coordinator for a perennial top 20 Division I team.
McKenna received a Bachelor of Science degree in elementary education from St. Joseph's University in 2000. While at St. Joseph's University McKenna was part of the man-down unit that ranked in the top ten in Division I all four years. In 2000, he led the Hawks to the Eastern College Athletic Conference and the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference titles.
