Barry Harvey (Aston, Pa. /Chichester)

Despite Harvey's Two-Goal Effort, Neumann Falls 3-2 in FSU Consolation Game

Sept. 2, 2006

Box Score

Frostburg, Md. - In the consolation game of the FSU tournament Neumann fell just short of victory falling to Waynesburg, 3-2 Saturday afternoon at Bobcat Stadium.

After ending the first half down two the Knights came out on fire in the second half. Barry Harvey (Aston, Pa. /Chichester) put Neumann on the board just 34 seconds into the half after receiving a pass from Charles Fryling (Seaford, De./Seaford), cutting the Knights deficit to one.

14 seconds later the Yellow Jackets increased their lead to 3-1 but Harvey refused to let up. The junior forward from Aston, Pennsylvania scored his second goal of the day in the 69th minute, off an assist from Mike Barbagallo (Bridgeport, NJ/Kingsway Regional), to bring the Knight within a goal, 3-2. However, Neumann was unable to take the lead ending the game down 3-2.

Neumann's keeper Luke Devlin (Huntingdon Valley, Pa. /Calvary Christian) made 16 saves in net for the Knights while Waynesburg's goalie finished the day with 11.

Harvey's two-goal performance for the Knights earned him all tournament honors along with teammate Joe Fargnoli (Mantua, NJ (Clearview).

The Knights will return to action on Wednesday against Rutgers-Camden University. Neumann will host the Scarlet Raptors at Widener University in Chester, Pennsylvania at 7:00pm.
