Harvey Scores three minutes into contest

Strike First but Are Unable to Keep Momentum

Sept. 8, 2005

Box Score

Aston, PA.-The Knights jumped to an early lead, but were unable to keep the momentum in a 2-1 loss to Goucher College in Baltimore, Maryland this afternoon.

Neumann got on the board just 2:46 into the contest, when Barry Harvey took a pass from John Tscherne and slammed it past the Goucher goalie. The 1-0 score held up until Goucher's Gary Decker tallied the equalizer off a direct kick from teammate Kevin Bartruff at 57:42 of the second half.

Even though the Knights were out shot 14-4, in the second half, goalie Josh Williams kept them in check making nine saves on the day, over half in the second period. Unfortunately for the Knights, a goal by Thomas Miller with exactly six minutes remaining in regulation snapped a 1-1 tie and propelled Goucher past Neumann, 2-1.

The Knights will return to action on Saturday, September 10, 2005 when they will host Immaculata University at 1:00 p.m.
