Aston, Pa. - Looking to improve on their best start in program history, the Neumann College men's soccer team defeated the Monarchs of Kings College, 3-2, in come from behind fashion, on Knights Field Saturday afternoon.

"This was a great win. After being down 2-1 the team really worked well together and found a way to come back. The player really pulled together during the second half, and played hard for ninety minutes. I credit the guys for this win, they battling until the end," said Head Coach Kevin Sloan.

In what was a very methodical first half, with game play going back and forth, the Knights drew first blood at 34:19 on a goal by Freshmen Sal Anzelmo (Atglen, Pa. /Octarara) assisted by Jesse Urquhart (Erial, NJ /Timber Creek).

Their lead was short lived, as the Monarchs struck back immediately to tie the game at 37:36. Lining up for a corner kick, Mark Timko perfectly assisted Cameron Audette who scored the equalizer on a header.

With time winding down in the first half, Kings again found the back of the net, this time at 42:44 after a costly Neumann turnover. Audette stole the ball from the Knights defender and scored his second goal of the game, unassisted, after his first attempt banged off the goal post, to give the Monarchs a 2-1 halftime lead.

The Knights fought back in the second half as Urquhart recorded his second assist of the game, setting up Barry Harvey's (Aston, Pa. /Chichester) header at 65:17, to even the score at two.

At the 87:00 minute mark, the Knights re-took the lead on a beautiful goal by Anzelmo. His second goal of the game proved to be the game winner, as Neumann held off the final Monarch attack. With the 3-2 win, the Knights continued their perfect season, and improved to a new program best 3-0.

Brett Fenimore (Manlapan, NJ/Manlapan) and Zack Ratliff (Baltimore, Md. /Sparrows Point) combined for two saves in net for the Knights while King's goaltenders John McNichol and Kaleb Smith combined for 6 saves on the day.

The Knights will look for their 4th consecutive victory when they return to action on Monday afternoon for a 4:00 match with Philadelphia Biblical University.
