SCRANTON, PA - John Tscherne (West Grove, PA/Avon Grove) scored the only goal he'd need just 14:34 into the game, but added two more for good measure, as Neumann College rolled to a 5-0 win over host Marywood University Wednesday afternoon in PAC men's soccer action.
Tscherne broke free from the Pacer defense and slid the ball to the left post past diving Marywood keeper Todd Sharbaugh to collect his first goal. Less than two minutes later, Tscherne did the same thing to give the Knights a 2-0 lead. He would add his third goal with less than three minutes remaining as he took a Luke Devlin (
Patrick Benjamin ( Devlin recorded his first collegiate shut-out win by stopping all eight Marywood shots. Sharbaugh allowed two goals and made two saves in 16 minutes of action for Marywood, while Danny Reynolds made four saves in 77 minutes of action for the Pacers, who fell to 0-4 (0-1 PAC).
