ASTON, Pa. - Sophomore goalkeeper Zack Ratliff (Baltimore, Md. /Sparrows Point) extended his personal shutout streak to two games as the Neumann men's soccer team played to a 0-0 draw with Gwynedd Mercy College Saturday afternoon at Knights Field. Ratliff made five saves to extend his shutout streak to 200 minutes. He now has two shutouts in seven career starts, the most recent of which helped the Knights (4-1-3, 1-0-1 PAC) earn a tie against PAC opponent Gwynedd Mercy College (2-4-2, 0-2-1 PAC). The game was back-and-forth all the way through the second overtime. GMC had two consecutive opportunities midway through the second half but Neumann's Sal Anzelmo (Atglen, Pa. /Octarara) and Jesse Urquhart (Erial, NJ/Timber Creek) managed to regain control and clear the ball in both situations. Urquhart (3 shots on goal), Alfred Baa-Adomako (2 shots on goal) and Kenneth Baa-Adomako (2 shots on goal) made numerous attempts to end the game in regulation including an Urquhart shot that was deflected off the fingertips of Griffins goalkeeper Joe Schneider 86th minute of play. In the extra sessions, Neumann was unable to find a game-winner despite out-shooting the Griffins 3-1 in the two overtime periods. The Knights next look to Wednesday when they travel to Radnor, Pa., to face off against Cabrini College under the lights. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. |
