Knights Shutout Pacers, 2-0

Sept. 29, 2007

Box Score

Aston, Pa.-The Neumann Knights men's soccer team welcomed a number of alumni back to their Alma Mater in style with a 2-0 hard fought victory over PAC rival Marywood University on Homecoming Saturday afternoon.  The win moves the Knights to 5-2-3 overall, 2-1-1 in the PAC and marks their best season record in program history.

"This is a great win for us," stated Head Coach Kevin Sloan. We are playing really well right now and it was great to be able to give our fans a win on Homecoming."

Daniel Perez's (Mexico City, Mexico/Lincoln) goal in the 28th minute of play off a first-class cross from Ken Baa-Adomako (Glenoden, Pa./Interboro) was enough to put the game away. The Knights got insurance late in the game from Alfred Baa-Adomako (Glenoden, Pa./Interboro) in the 88th minute off a penalty kick to give the Knights the win on Homecoming.

Marywood had quality chances but goaltender Zack Ratliff (Baltimore, Md. /Sparrows Point) made giant saves in his third shutout of the season. Ratliff stopped six saves in net and has become the all-time career leader in shutouts as of today's game beating out former Neumann Knight Josh Williams who graduated last season.

The Knights will look to continue their winning ways as they travel to Keystone College on Wednesday at 4:00 pm.
