Jesse Urquhart tallies seventh goal of season.

Urquhart Inspires Knights in Overtime, 2-1.

Oct. 8, 2007

Box Score

Aston, Pa-Neumann got back on track today with a hard fought victory over Widener University.  Neumann overcame an own goal in the second half and Jesse Urquhart provided the game winner for the Knights.

In the first half, it was back and fourth for both teams but neither could find the net.  Then in the 35th minute of play, Zach Sell (Loyola Blakefield) provided a quality ball through to Jesse Urquhart (Erial, NJ /Timber Creek) who finished giving the Knights a 1-0 lead at halftime.

In the second half, the Knights defense slipped up and the ball ended up in the back of the net to tie the score at 1-1 in the 55th minute of play on an own goal.  Widener then tried to gain advantage of the momentum but could not slip a ball past Zach Ratliff (Baltimore, Md. /Sparrows Point) who saved eight shots.  The Knights answered the call with an inspirational goal by Chuck Rudolph (Atco,NJ/ Hammonton) but it was called back for the handball.  Neither team could end the tie so the game went to overtime.

In overtime, Widener's Frank Nolan put a hard shot on net but Zach Ratliff came up big and the Knights countered down field and found Jesse Urquhart who made a great single effort play to place the ball to the side of the net to give the Knights the win.

The Knights will be in action again Wednesday to play a key PAC game in Reading, PA against Alvernia College.
