Oct. 17, 2007

Box Score

Aston, Pa. - The men's soccer team defeated Centenary College 4-1 in Hackensack, NJ Wednesday improving their season record to 7-5-3 overall and 3-2-1 in conference play.

Freshman midfielder Zach Sell (Baltimore, Md. /Loyola Blakefield) was the hero for the Knights, scoring all three of the team's first half goals and his first collegiate hat trick as a Knight.

Sell opened the scoring in the 2nd minute of play after Jesse Urquhart (Erial, NJ /Timber Creek) crossed the ball from the right side to Sell who found the bottom right hand corner of the net.

The Knights went up 2-0 in the 38th minute as Urquhart teamed up with Sell, for the second time, sending a short pass from just inside the box to Sell who one-timed it past Centenary's goalkeeper Damien DiBuono.

In the 42nd minute Sell struck again, this time with a header to the front of the goal. Urquhart provided the assist yet again as Sell completed the hat trick and Neumann took a commanding 3-0 first half lead.

After a good period of pressure, the Cyclones were rewarded with an unassisted goal in the 74th minute by Chris Hill.

The Knights however did not dwell on the moment. Neumann regroup their defenses and shut down Centenary for the remained of the game. Their aggressiveness paid off as the Knights scored their fourth of the day in the 81st minute of a penalty kick by Ken Baa-Adomako (Glenoden, Pa. /Interboro).

"We're extremely pleased with this win," said assistant coach Tom Aglidian." We played probably one of the best games of the season today. It was a great effort on the part of entire team."
