Aston, PA. - The Neumann College men's soccer team lost in its final home game of the 2005 season on Sunday, 3-2, to Alvernia College at Neumann Field. The game also marked the final appearance at home for Knight senior Matt Backert (Northeast, MD/Rising Sun).

Before the game began, the Knights honored Backert, the team's lone senior, who is in his fourth year with the team. He has appeared in 52 games over four seasons, starting in all 17 games this year.

Neumann finishes its season 3-13-1 and 2-6-1 in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference.
