Knights Announce 2007 Team

Aug. 28, 2007

Aston, PA- With a new season just underway, the Neumann Knights will attempt a first in program history: a berth in the PAC playoff tournament.  Head Coach Kevin Sloan announced the names of the 22 athletes that will fight for the title as members of the 2007 men's soccer team on Monday. The Neumann Knights have a revamped roster and are excited to make a name for themselves in 2007. The Knights are looking to rebound from a lackluster 2006 season.  Key returnees, Barry Harvey and Mike Barbagallo look to lead the way for the young Knights this season.

The off-season was a busy one for Coach Kevin Sloan, brining in a whole new cast of freshman and transfers.  Transfers Chuck Rudolph and Jesse Urquhart bring experience and leadership to the squad, while freshman brothers Alfred Baa-Adomako and Kenneth Baa-Adomako bring an exciting presence to the field. Assisting the Knights this season will be first-year assistant coaches Peter Reali and Tom Aglidian. The two Delaware County natives will team up to help Sloan and the Knights make a playoff push.

A different conference look should play to the Knights advantage as the PAC loses perennial powerhouse Arcadia University to the Freedom Conference and add Centenary College (NJ).  Alvernia and Eastern will prove to be tough opponents for the Knights this season. Both teams are looking to dominate the conference as they have in years past.

The Knights will open the season this Saturday at 2:00 p.m. against the University of District of Columbia at Knights Field in Aston, Pa.
