Harvey, a native of
In the last two seasons as a member of the Knights' men's tennis team Barry Harvey has gone 22-6 overall and won the 2006 PAC Men's Tennis 6th Singles Championship. He was also named the top doubles player for the Knights in 2007. "I love sports. That's it plan and simple. Playing soccer and tennis for Neumann has given me some of the best times I've ever experienced and I wouldn't change anything about my college career. I have learned so much during these years, about team work, sportsmanship, leadership, and how to learn from you're mistakes. Life is hard sometimes, but those 90 minutes on that pitch make me feel free and allow me to express myself in a positive way. Most importantly, I've made many, many friends, friends for life, mentors, and people I know I can go to if I ever need their help. Sport isn't just about winning, it's about building relationships and growing as human being, and I thank Neumann for helping me become the man I am, and the man I am going to be in the future." Barry, a Chichester High School graduate, plans on being an elementary teacher when he finishes up his studies in 2008. Off the field, Barry Harvey is a supporter of Arsenal, an English Premiere League Team. Barry grew up watching Arsenal when he lived in London. He is also a big fan of Roger Federer, arguably the all time greatest tennis player. When he is not playing tennis or soccer he enjoys listening to rock and roll music. His favorite musicians and bands include Pink Floyd, Pearl Jam, The Doors, The Who and The Beatles just to name a few. You can also catch Barry enjoying a movie or two in the cinema. The list of his favorite movies includes Gladiator, Rocky, The Last Samurai, and Wayne's World. Barry, who is team captain of the Knights men's soccer team, has already recorded a goal and an assist. He looks to be one of the key contributors this year as the Knights are off to their best start in school history. |
