Neumann College Celebrate Thrid Annual Men's Soccer Banquet

Nov. 19, 2005

The Neumann College Men's Soccer team hosted its third annual banquet on Saturday, November 19, 2005.  Director of Athletics, Chuck Sack served as emcee of the banquet and welcomed over 50 supporters back to campus.  Despite the teams overall record the banquet was festive, fun and a wonderful opportunity to celebrate the strong bonds between team members.

At the banquet the coaching staff recognized the hard work and effort of every individual.  Each team member received a participation award for their year of service and dedication.  After recognizing each team member Coach Smith awarded the team awards.

The team's most valuable player was sophomore Jimmy Diamond.  Jimmy was a strong presence on the field and helped lead the team from his middle field position.  The St. Francis and Clare Leadership award is given to the individual who represents the values and mission of the College the best.  This year senior captain Matt Backert won the St. Francis and Clare Leadership award.  The team also recognized the best defender and attacker.  Junior Joe Fargnoli received the best defender award while Barry Harvey received the Best Attacker award leading the team with 5 goals scored this season.

At the end of the banquet Coach Smith announced his resignation.  The team and athletic department thanked him for his years of service and commitment to Neumann College.  Director of Athletics Chuck Sack shared a final thank you to the team and parents to end the evening.
