Christian "Goose" Gosseaux, a graduate of DeSales University and two-time coach of the year by the Philadelphia Inquirer and Main Line Times, took over the reins of the men's and women's tennis program at Neumann College for the 2005-2006 season. "Coach Goose", as he is known to his players, was named Coach of the Year in 2004 by the Pennsylvania Tennis Coaches Association, in 2003 and 2004 by the Philadelphia Inquirer and 2001 by the Main Line Times. He led the Harriton High School Girl's Tennis Team to three consecutive District One Tennis Championships and to a State Final in 2003. He was responsible for leading the Harriton High School Boy's Tennis Team to an undefeated 21-0 season and a State Championship in 2004. His 2003 and 2004 boy's tennis teams were also named Tennis Team of the Year by the Philadelphia Inquirer, and his 2004 team received the same honor from the Scholastic Play by Play Network. Gosseaux graduated in 1993 with a B.A. degree in Politics from DeSales, where he was a two-year member of the men's tennis team and four year member and team captain of the Bulldog's basketball team. In 1993 Gosseaux was named to the Freedom Academic All-Conference 1st Team and was All-Conference 2nd Team in his senior year. He went on to earn a master's degree in History at Villanova University in 2003. While in Radnor, Gosseaux worked as a summer sports camp counselor at St. Joseph's University, Villanova, Timberlake Day Camp, Keystone All-Stars and the St. Bernadette Summer League, but the position at Neumann is his first at the collegiate coaching level. |
