Neumann College Defeats Wesley 8-1

Dover, De. - Men's Tennis won a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference match on the road this afternoon recording their 8th win of the season and breaking the Knights season wins record with an 8-1 win against Wesley College. With the win Neumann moves to 8-3 overall and 5-2 in the PAC.

 

Neumann's Matthew Ford and Barry Harvey gave Neumann its first point of the day winning 8-2 at No. 2 doubles. Andrew Bitar and Steve Klenk recorded an 8-4 win at No. 3 and Dan Harnos and John Slinka teamed up to record a 8-8, 7-4 win at 1st singles.

 

After sweeping doubles the Knights went on to win 5 of 6 singles matches. Two singles matches were closely contested. At No. 4 singles, Andrew Bitar edged out his opponent in a super set tie-breaker played instead of a third set, 6-2, 6-7, (5-7), 10-4. The #1 singles match was won by John Slinka, 6-3, 3-6, 6-2. Neumann's Matthew Ford, Barry Harvey and Steve Klenk also recorded victories this afternoon in straight sets.

 

Neumann will close out PAC play on Thursday against Marywood University at home. Match time is set for 3:30 p.m.
