Neumann College Men's Tennis Ends the 2006 Regular Season with the Best Record in Program History

April 18, 2006

Box Score

Neumann College men's tennis ends the 2006 regular season with the best record in program history after defeating Philadelphia Biblical 7-0 on Monday. The 8-6, 5-3 PAC record secures the third seed in the PAC Championship Tournament for the first time in Knights history.

Neumann swept the three doubles matches with ease, thanks to the play of John Slinka and Barry Harvey who won at first-doubles 8-1, Andrew Finger and Matthew Ford, sealed the deal at #2 doubles 8-2, and Robert Klenk and Steve Klenk followed Finger and Ford with a 8-1 win at third doubles.

The Knights rolled in the singles matches, as none of the six players dropped a set.  Finger followed up his doubles victory with a 6-0, 6-0 win at first singles and Slinka did the same, winning 6-1, 6-0 at second singles.  Neumann's other winners were Ford, B. Klenk, S. Klenk, and Kevin Conroy.

Neumann will get set to travel to the West End Raquet Club in Allentown, Pennsylvania on Friday, April 21, 2006 for the first round of the PAC Championship Tournament.
