Brown won singles and doubles
 
Knights Fall to the Colonels 6-3

(Edwardsville, PA) - Neumann College traveled north to Wilkes University Monday afternoon and fell in the non-conference opponent by score of 6-3.  With the loss, the Knights saw their record slip to 1-2  .

            Neumann lost two of the three doubles matches allowing Wilkes to take a lead they would never relinquish.  Pairs John (Sicklerville, NJ/Paul IV) and Joe Boccella (West Conshohocken, PA/Archbishop Carroll) and Dan Harnos (Lanoka Harbor, NJ/Lacy Township) and Barry Harvey (Aston, PA/Chichester) both lost in doubles 8-2. Neumann won the third doubles match when Chris Brown (Eldersburg, MD/Liberty) and Greg Bridgeman (Haddonfield, NJ/Haddon Twp.) garnered an 8-4 victory.

            John Slinka lost his first singles match of the season with a 6-3, 6-1 sets. Chris Brown copped a 6-3, 6-3 win at the second position to cut the Colonels lead to 3-2. 

            Abraham Joseph lost at the number three spot.  Once again Neumann trimmed the team lead to a point when Greg Bridgeman notched a 4-6, 6-3, 7-6 (10-8) win over Wilkes' Rohrbach at the fourth spot. 

            Wilkes was able to take the match out of the Knight's reach by winning the final two singles matches.  Gardner topped Harnos, 6-0, 6-2 at number five.  Tom Miller finished off the victory by scoring a 1-6, 7-5, 7-6 (10-8) win over Harvey.
