the 2007 St. Francis and Clare Award was presented to John Slinka
 
Bitar, Ford and Harvey Receive Top Honors at Annual Tennis Banquet

Aston, Pa. - Men's Tennis' Andrew Bitar, Matt Ford and Barry Harvey, who combined for a 37-12 singles record this season, were named Top Singles and Doubles Players at the annual Neumann College Tennis Banquet on Thursday, May 10, 2007.

 

2007 PAC Coach of the Year Christian Gosseaux started the evening by reviewing the season and congratulating the team on their success.

 

Bitar, who was selected as first team all-Pennsylvania Athletic Conference, had a spectacular season. He recorded a 12-4 record on the season and claimed the 2007 4th singles championship. For his efforts Coach Gosseaux presented Bitar with the 2007 Top Singles Award.

 

Barry Harvey and Matt Ford, who were named to the All-PAC second team at No. 2 doubles, were celebrated for their undefeated PAC season before being awarded the Top Doubles Award. Harvey was also named to the All-PAC second team for his achievement at No. 5 singles.

 

Freshman newcomer Dan Harnos was awarded the 2007 Coaches Award. Harnos was a positive influence on the team both on and off the field and was a major impact for the Knights this season.

 

The final award of the night was presented to senior captain John Slinka who was awarded the St. Francis and Clare Award. This award, which is presented to the individual who made significant contributions to the well-being of the team in terms of attitude, improvement and leadership, is one of the highest honors to be given to a Knight. Head Coach Christian Gosseaux said stated, "There is no one who deserves this more than John, He is a true leader and a will be missed next season."

 

Neumann ended their season 12-3 overall and 6-2 in the PAC.
