Aston, PA - John Tscherne (Avon Grove/West Grove, PA) captured the 2005 Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Championship at 5th singles on Saturday at the West End Racquet Club in Allentown, PA.

Tscherne posted a 6-2, 6-1, defeat of Russell DeCicco of Wesley College to advance to the semifinals and went on to out hit Jamie Berg of Eastern 6-4, 3-6, 6-2 on Friday. In the championship round of the tournament Tscherne faced of against defending PAC Champion Justin Allegra from Alvernia College. In an intense match up that lasted just under two hours, Tscherne was able to come out on top in two sets 7-5, 6-4.

Tscherne's victory today marks the first ever individual PAC Championship for Neumann College. When asked about the accomplishment Tschere said, "It hasn't sunk in yet, it was an intense match, one that could of gone either way. I just kept fighting that is the Neumann Spirit. There was a lot of Neumann Spirit here today and that is what it is all about."
