Aston, Pa. -- The women's basketball team defeated Rosemont College, 53-36, at the Neumann College Bruder Gymnasium Monday evening extending their win streak to five and improving to 8-5 overall and 3-1 in the PAC. Brittany Whetts scored a game-high 14 points and nine rebounds while Nicole Feby and Krista DiRomualdo added 10-points each in the 17-point win. As a team Neumann recorded 16 assists and 11 steals on the night and shot 60 percent from the foul line. DiRomualdo scored the first double-double of her career posting 10 points and 11 boards. The Eddystone, Pennsylvania native also added 5 assists and 7 steals on the night. Neumann held Rosemont to 36 points, the Knights' best defensive effort of the season. Though the Knights entered the locker-room at the half down two, 20-18, they returned to the court and limited Rosemont to 16 second-half points in route to the 53-36 win. Neumann out-rebounded Rosemont 47-25 and only gave up 4 offensive rebounds while collecting 17 to outscore the Ramblers in second-chance points. Neumann will look to make it six in a row Thursday evening when they host Immaculata at 6:00 p.m. |
