Knights Move to 2-1 with 69-59 Win Over Wilkes

Aston, Pa.  - The Neumann College women's basketball team (2-1) upended Wilkes University (0-4) by a score of 69-59 on Monday night at the Marts Center in Wilkes-Barre, Pa.

Brittany Whetts scored a game high 15 points and Stephanie Fanto and Caitlin Agnew scored 11 points apiece to lead the Knights to the win.  Fanto also grabbed four rebounds, 3 steals and had 2 assists for the Knights. 

Neumann put together an early 11-2 run to take a lead they would never relinquish. Behind seven points from Brittany Whetts, the Knights broke out of a 2-2 tie to take a 13-4 lead with 13:42 left in the opening half. Neumann had a 35-24 advantage at the half and scored 34 in the second half en route to the 10 point victory.

The Knights will return to action on Thursday night when they will host Cabrini College in their conference opener.  Tip-off is set for 6:00 p.m.
