Women's Basketball Falls to Richard Stockton, 57-44

Dec. 5, 2007

Final Stats

ASTON, Pa. -Jenn Russell connected on 5 of 11 shots and scored a game-high 13 points to lead Richard Stockton College of New Jersey to a 57-44 victory over Neumann at the Bruder Gymnasium Wednesday night.

Stockton opened the night on a 14-2 run and took their largest lead of the night with just under nine minutes remaining in the first half, 20-6. Neumann managed to close the gap on its opponents behind a layup by Brittany Whetts, two from Coleen Healy and three points from Krista DiRomualdo but ended the first half down 24-18.

Neumann opened the second half on a six-point run but was unable to overtake the Ospreys. Plagued by turnovers the Knights struggled to control the ball on offense and never had a chance to take the lead as the Knights shot just 20.8% from the field.

The Knights' Krista DiRomualdo was the only Knight in double figures as she tallied 10 points, 4 rebounds and 5 assists in the loss. Kieran Young added nine and Dorothy Rozier scored 8 and grab 10 rebounds for the Knights who slip to 3-4 on the season.

The Osprey's were led by Russell with 13 points and Michele Auerbacher and Ashley Hart who each tallied 11 in the win.

Neumann will return to action on Friday, December 7. The Knights are scheduled host Juniata College at 7:00 p.m.
