Box Score

Washington D.C.  - Brittany Whetts scored a double-double 18 points, 13 rebounds, while three other Knights scored in double-figures to lift Neumann College to a 79-63 win over Catholic University on Saturday at DuFour Center.

Neumann improved to 4-5 following the win while Catholic falls to 5-3 on the season.

Brittany Whetts led the Knights with 18 points-13 rebounds and notched her third double-double of the season. Nicole Feby had a breakout game going 3-5 from 3-point land and ended the day with 13 points.  Ashley Pearsall chipped in with 11 points and Krista DiRomualdo was a symbol of perfection on the foul line going 8-8 and contributing 10 points in the win.  Freshman newcomer Tiffany Williams scored her first collegiate points in today's match up going 2-2 from the foul line. In all, the Knights shot 82 percent from the charity stripe and 40.4 from the field.

Neumann found itself trailing 12-7 in the opening minutes of play however, a three-pointer by Pearsall helped the Knights take a lead (15-14) that they would not relinquish. Neumann pushed its lead out to double-digits with 6-minutes left in the first half and ended the half up 14-points, 38-24.

Catholic came within seven points of the Knights lead with 16-minutes left in the game but would not get any closer. Neumann took a 44-33 lead over their hosts moment later and never let their lead dip below 10 points the rest of the way in cruising to the win.

The Knights will return to action on January 4 when they will travel to Wilkes-Barre, Pa. for the first round of the King's College Tournament. The Knights are scheduled to take on King's at 8:00 p.m.
