ASTON, Pa. -- The PAC announced today that Brittany Whetts was named Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Player of the Week for games played from Monday, January 22 through Sunday, January 28. It is the third time that Whetts has received the honor as the freshman guard won back-to-back Player of the Week honors in early December. Whetts helped guide Neumann to a 2-0 week. Whetts averaged 20.5 points on 47.1% shooting from the floor and 47.7% shooting from line while also averaging 11 rebounds and 1.5 assists. She has scored 15+ points in eight of the Knights 18 games this season. She is averaging 15.4 points and 8.5 rebounds. Whetts scored a double-double 14 points and 15 rebounds against Wesley College and recorded 14 points and a career high 17 rebounds against Eastern University last week. Her efforts contributed to the Knights' 13th and 14th wins of the season, marking the team's best record in four years. This season, Whetts has been a force on the court, leading the Knights in almost every game played. Neumann has won 5 of their last 6 games and Whetts is among the NCAA's top 100 players for points per game and sits a No. 6 in conference scoring and No. 4 in rebounding. Whetts and the Knights will return to action this evening in a PAC conference bout with Immaculata University at 6:00 p.m. in |
