Sept. 1, 2007

Final Stats

Canton, N.Y., - The Neumann College field hockey team opened its 2007 campaign with a 3-0 loss to Utica College at the St. Lawrence Field Hockey Fest on Saturday afternoon hosted by St. Lawrence University.

Neumann (0-1) played with aggressive force both offensively and defensively but Utica kept pace with the Knights keeping the first half scoreless.  The Pioneers (1-0) capitalized on a corner to take an early lead in the second period and added two goals late in the game to ensure their victory. Neumann's sole shot on goal came off of the stick of Amanda Biagi but the pioneer defense kept it out of the net.
