Oct. 7, 2006

Box Score

ASTON, Pa. - The Knights of Neumann College defeated the Mighty Macs of Immaculata University, 6-2, in a Pennsylvania Athletic Conference match up under a damp 65 degree sky.

The Knights started off the game with quick offensive attack, scoring at 30:43 in the first half, courtesy of Michelle Coderre (Freehold, NJ).  Neumann's attack did not let up in the first half, when Rachael Mease (Gibbstown, NJ) and Amanda Biagi (Bellmawr, NJ) applied strong pressure to the Mighty Macs, giving the Knights a two goal lead.  At 15:44 the Mighty Macs answered back, when Immaculata's Alyssa Drescher put one past Neumann goaltender Katie Kucheruck (Atco, NJ), setting the score 2-1 in favor of the Knights.

With the score close at the half (2-1), the Knights started to pull away, led by freshman Lauren Hood (Norristown, Pa), who scored her second goal of the season at 44:13. After that the Knights had goals by: Britani Walsh (Paulsboro, NJ), Rachel Mease and Andrea White (Wilmington, De).

Anastasia Likanchuk added to Immaculata's total, scoring their second and final goal of the day at 65:59, which was not enough to reach victory over the Knights.

Neumann's Michelle Coderre and Amanda Biagi both had two assists in the game with Lauren Hood adding one.

Katie Kucheruck played a solid game in net recording 6 saves in the victory over Immaculata.

Neumann returns to action on Wednesday, October 11 at Wesley College beginning at 4:00 p.m.
