Knights Announce 2007 Field Hockey Schedule

ASTON, Pa. - Highlighted by contests against three teams that qualified for the 2006 NCAA tournament and two that were ranked in the top 20 by STX/NFHCA, the Neumann College field hockey team has announced its schedule for the 2007 season.

The 20-match schedule will commence with two non-conference match-ups at the St. Lawrence Field Hockey Fest in Canton, N.Y., against Utica College and SUNY Oneonta on Friday, September 1 and Saturday, September 2 respectively. The Knights will then look for 9-road wins and 9-home wins en route to the 2007 PAC Championship which is scheduled to begin on October 27, 2007.

Neumann will face Philadelphia Biblical University in its season home opener on September 5 and will travel up Route 1 to Swarthmore College on September 8.

The Knights will open conference play against Rosemont College on September 12 and then head on a three game road trip to Arcadia (Sept. 17), Philadelphia University (Sept. 20) and Immaculata (Sept. 22) before returning home to face Cedar Crest on September 24.

Neumann will face Notre Dame and 2006 PAC runner-up Alvernia in a two-game conference series before facing DeSales and 2006 NCAA Tournament participant King's College mid-season.  

The Knights will finish off the regular season with five of seven conference games including one against 2006 PAC Champion Eastern University on October 10. The Knights will celebrate their seniors on October 13 against Marywood and will close out the regular season against Delaware County rival Widener University on October 23.

This year's PAC Tournament is scheduled for Oct 27-Nov. 3, while the first round of the NCAA Tournament is scheduled for the weekend of Nov. 7 at sites to be determined.
