Sarah Madrak '02 Named Head Women's Field Hockey and Lacrosse Coach at Neumann

Aug. 17, 2006

Aston, Pa. - Former Knights' field hockey and lacrosse standout Sarah Madrak '02 returns to her alma mater as the head women's field hockey and lacrosse coach at Neumann College. Madrak comes to Neumann from Beverly Hills Middle School, where she was the head field hockey and lacrosse coach for the last two years.

"We are very excited to have Sarah lead both of these programs. As a graduate of Neumann College she understands our values and mission. Her playing and coaching experience has prepared her for this opportunity," stated Athletic Director Chuck Sack.

A 2002 graduate of Neumann, Madrak was a three-time team captain and starter on both field hockey and lacrosse under former Head Coach Carol Di Girolamo, who resigned her post following the 2006 season.

Madrak played four years for the Knights' field hockey and lacrosse teams. She was a two-time St. Francis & Clare Award winner as a field hockey player and selected as a member of the 2002 All-PAC academic team as a midfielder. Madrak capped her career by playing in the Pennsylvania Athletic Conference Lacrosse Tournament Championship contest in 2002.

A native of Drexel Hill, Pa., Madrak graduated from Archbishop Prendergast High School where she lettered in field hockey and lacrosse. Coach Madrak resides in Media, Pennsylvania and is currently an English teacher at Beverly Hills Middle School in Upper Darby, Pennsylvania.
