Aston, Pa. - The Neumann Knights field hockey team looks to return to the playoffs once again, and challenge for the PAC Title. Sarah Madrak's Knights finished fifth in the PAC last year and with a veteran squad are committed to win the crown. The Knights are lead by an excellent group of upperclassmen. Senior captains Amanda Biagi, Andrea White, and Chelsea Ward look to provide leadership for the Knights as captains. Biagi was fourth on the team in points and White was tenth for the 2006 season. In goal, Ward recorded 2.90 Goals against average and 144 saves. Recording seven goals as a freshman, sophomore Lauren Hood will push the Knights attack along with the help of seniors Britani Walsh and Gabriele Bendistis. The speed and athletic prowess of juniors Rachael DiCicco and Kerri Sinclair will make the Neumann field hockey team a difficult team to keep away from the net. The Knights also welcome six newcomers to the squad. Goalie Nicole Deludos, defender Theresa Yurick, two midfielders Bridget Meekes and Krystalyn Christensen, and two forwards Samantha Tobin and Christine Gibble. The Knights will open the 2007 season at the St. Lawrence Field Hockey Fest in Canton, New York over Labor Day weekend. |
